Upcoming dancehall musician, Kotk real name Lloyd Bangu, has urged young artistes across Zimbabwe never to abandon their education at the expense of talents.

Speaking on how he manages his musical talents and school, Kotk says there has always been a rule in his life where he prioritises education over anything else.

“School goes first then music later or during weekends and holidays. I pay attention to the advice l get from my parents and other elders around me because they know better.

“No fame will derail me. And l understand that when at school there are no other parents who should be respected other than teachers. We ought to be respectful and obedient to enjoy favours from God.

“My music talks about fighting gender-based violence and child marriages in our society. Some of the songs are just for fun to refresh,” said the Advance level student at Ascot High School in Gweru.

Kotk explained that as an influencer he owes his success to God.

“In everything l do, I submit to God, I was nurtured into respecting the elderly and obeying their counsel for their wisdom is valuable,” he added.
