In observance of the 1st Friday of each calendar month, the National Clean-Up Campaign as declared by His Excellency, the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, state-owned mobile network operator, NetOne today mobilized a clean-up exercise in Magwegwe, one of the oldest suburbs in Bulawayo – the City of Kings and Queens.

In a bid to ensure a clean and safe environment for all, and as part of NetOne’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) pillar, HealthCare, management, and staff accompanied by the Environmental Management Agency (EMA), the Resident Minister of Bulawayo Metropolitan Province Hon. Judith Ncube, the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, Zimbabwe Republic Police, and the Ministry of Environment, among other key stakeholders, took the lead in working together to curb the problems arising from dumped waste.

President Mnangagwa has called upon every individual to equally honour this declaration to work together as a nation to protect the environment as the government is moving to ensure the country has sustainable environment management and waste disposal systems.

The notion behind is for every citizen to get together and clean up the environment, coupled with recycling and reusing. This will go a long way in ensuring that we maintain a clean, safe and healthy environment.
