NetOne has sent on forced leave its top two executives who are Sibusiso Ndlovu, the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) as well as its Chief Operating Officer (COO) Brian Mutandiro.

“One of the two executives was force-marched off the building while resisting the suspension and suspected to be concealing evidence. The two executives will be on indefinite leave pending the investigation. However, they will continue to receive their benefits pending the investigation,“ said a source close to the developments.

The new Board Chairman James Mutizwa, said that he was in no position to comment on the issues as this was purely an executive matter. He then referred all questions to the Acting CEO Mr Nkosilathi Ncube.

Mr Ncube said that they are still investigating the matter and he is not in any position to comment at the moment on the allegations being levelled against NetOne’s financial director Sibusiso Ndlovu as well as its Chief Operating Officer Brian Mutandiro.

Asked to comment on the suspension, Mr Brian Mutandiro confirmed that he was sent on forced leave, but was at peace and does not think this could be any case of sour grape.

He was once the acting CEO after Kangai was suspended, and recorded some milestones in his early days of acting which saw introduction of household products.

The two unfortunately have been suspended again after surviving the first block of suspended executives, which was effected by the suspended CEO Lazarus Muchenje.

Speaking on the Muchenje issue, chairman Mutizwa said the board was taking a look into the matter and was optimistic closure would be brought in as soon as possible.

It is however not clear how the new Acting CEO could have initiated such a decision to suspend his own CFO and COO in such a time unless this was a board decision or it had top influence from outside.

He was the only executive who was not fired when the other top 9 executives faced the axe, and he surely may have no interest to cut off his surviving colleagues.
