President Mnangagwa effects changes of Cabinet

The office of the President announced changes to be made to the Ministry of Energy and the National Oil Infrastructure Company (NOIC) management, a press statement published.

The changes which were necessitated by retirement, vacancy of office and took effect yesterday with ministerial swearing expected to take place today.

Hon Joram Gumbo has been assigned to the President’s Office as Minister ofState for Presidential Affairs in charge of Implementation and Monitoring, while Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Hon Dr Fortune Chasi has been assigned as the Minister of Energy and Power Development.

The changes in the Ministry of Energy will see Fortune Chasi assuming the Ministry of Energy office.

The other changes will see NOIC Chairperson Mr Jemias Madzingira being retired and replaced by Eng MacKenzie Ncube.

Meanwhile, a swearing in ceremony for Zimbabwe Prison Services is expected to take place today, perhaps in conjunction with the Ministerial changes.
