Under the Destiny Of Afrika Network (DANet)’s affordable housing initiative, there are plans to avail 200,000 housing units by 2030 as part of programmes towards attaining an upper-middle-income society.

Bringing smiles to an entire community can be a challenging feat, often requiring extraordinary efforts.

However, the Destiny Of Afrika Network (DANet) has succeeded in uplifting spirits across the nation through its ambitious housing project, which is making significant strides toward providing affordable housing for all.

This initiative aligns perfectly with the government’s commitment to ensuring that no one is left behind as the country progresses toward its ambitious Vision 2030.

In a recent media interview, Reverend Obadiah Musindo, the founder of DANet, said the project’s positive impact on improving living standards for individuals and families by offering flexible housing solutions.

“We are currently developing roads in another section of the project. Very soon, we will secure a housing construction permit from the local authority, allowing our beneficiaries to start building their homes under the laws of this country,” stated Rev. Musindo.

DANet is actively acquiring land for its third phase, targeting a total of 6,000 housing stands in Chinhoyi as part of its overarching goal to alleviate housing challenges faced by many Zimbabweans.

“Initially, I never expected this initiative to take us this far. DANet has made me a landlord under conditions more favorable than any other,” expressed one grateful beneficiary.

The success of the project is apparent, with 700 families benefitting from Phase 1 in Westview Extension, Kadoma, and a total of 2,500 families benefiting across Phases 1 and 2 in Kadoma Town alone.

Rev. Musindo recently announced plans to develop an additional 7,500 housing stands in Kadoma as part of the forthcoming Phase 3.

DANet aims to assist various segments of society, including low-income earners, teachers, security personnel, nurses, informal traders, cross-border workers, and ordinary citizens of Zimbabwe.

The overarching goal is the creation of 200,000 housing units throughout the country by 2030, significantly contributing to national housing initiatives and enhancing housing availability for all.

Furthermore, the government has set a new target to construct one million houses by the end of this year, having already exceeded its initial goal of 220,000. This initiative intensifies efforts to tackle the country’s housing challenges in alignment with Vision 2030.
