The Ambassador of the state of Palestine, Dr Tamer Almassri, expresses his heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the people of Palestine for President Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa’s unwavering support during his recent speech at the 79TH United Nations General Assembly delivered on his behalf by Honourable Fredrick Shava.
HE Almassri said Zimbabwe’s commitment to standing in solidarity with Palestine in pursuit of justice, recognition, and ending Israeli occupation and genocide is deeply appreciated.
“President Mnangagwa’s remarks highlighted the importance of international solidarity in addressing the longstanding issues faced by Palestinians. His emphasis on human rights and self-determination resonates profoundly with our aspirations for peace and dignity.
“The President’s speech not only brought attention to the Palestinian plight but also reinforced the necessity for collective action among nations to uphold justice, and equality and end the last occupation of the 21st century by Israel. By voicing support for Palestine, he has contributed significantly to raising global awareness about our situation, which is crucial in fostering a more just world order,” HE Almassri said.
He added that he was hopeful that the solidarity message would inspire other nations to follow suit and advocate for Palestinian rights within international forums.
“The courage demonstrated by President Mnangagwa serves as a beacon of hope, especially at a time when Israel is expanding its genocide to Westbank and Lebanon – creating a regional war.”
