Scores of talented singers recently converged on the Harare audition centre for the Old Mutual Amazing Voices talent search, eager to reach final selection into the competition, which has prize money of US$100 000 for the winner and will be screened on DStv in 2020.
According to MultiChoice Zimbabwe publicity and public relations manager Liz Dziva, there had been a good response to the call for gospel, RnB and Afro-pop groups to step up for adjudication, and possible slots in the list of candidates for the competition.
The competition will run as a reality TV show on DStv’s Zambezi Magic,Mzansi Magic, Mzansi Wethu and Africa Magic early in the new year. Four countries will be involved in this international competition, the other three being South Africa, Ghana and Kenya.
