Yesteryear music great Paradzai Mesi of the Njerama Boys appears to be back in form and is busy in the studio working on a new video for the song Wedenga off the album Zviri Pachena.

The Njerama Boys frontman, popular for hits such as Tiri Huruva, Goneso, and Wamhanya Makarimwa has over the years had waning fortunes since the demise of music stable Grammar Records in the early 2000s.

The latest video project coming off an album recorded two decades ago is being produced at Eaglefocus Images in Harare. It is likely to rejuvenate his once colourful music career.

“I am looking forward to officially launch the video at a private function next week. So far all is on track for the launch and I hope the captivating video will help us to reconnect with our fans,” said Mesi in an interview with this publication.

The Tiri Huruva hitmaker is also currently grooming his two sons who provided backing vocals for the video. His son Willis is an accomplished instrumentalist.

Eaglefocus Images director Lloyd Mhungu said “We have already completed shooting and now we are putting final touches. We expect to complete the project by Friday. We are optimistic that the video will thrust him on the limelight as it was handled professionally.”

Mesi has numerous albums under his belt including Zaru (1999), Zviripachena (2000), Pane Chariuraya (2001), Goneso (2002), Masimba Towedzera  (2003), Nguva (2005), Kambairai (2006), Wamhanya Makarimwa and Wakangira Pakatsvira Dzimwe (2019).
