ZNOART provides virtual outreach programmes during the lockdown

In a bid to address the plight of residents in the wake of Covid-19 pandemic, the Zimbabwe National Organisation Association of Residents Trust (ZNOART) has said its outreach programmes will continue to be virtually conducted so as to contain the spread of the virus.

The Chairperson for ZNOART, Shalvar Chikomba said his organisation has seen it imperative and necessary to extend programmes online to ensure that residents would not be neglected as they face challenges during the unprecedented times of the deadly pandemic.

“We have moved a mile further trying to address problems and plights which are being faced by residents especially here in Harare. Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have seen it fit that the outreach programmes should go on, visual ones and online,” he said.

In due course, Chikomba pointed out that it will be impossible to bring together crowds of residents and physically attend to their problems.

“In the long run, I think this is the way to go because we cannot group a lot of people and call those officials to come and address them. Healthwise, we have seen it as fit and proper to continue doing it virtually.”
