A Banket based gospel artist Minister Normal Joseph is set to release a virtual collaboration in time for the festive season which he is currently working on with a South African based Zimbabwean gospel artist Carol Muzambi.

Minister Joseph who has two albums to his name namely Fear not (2019), and Position yourself (2021) has decried lack of support for upcoming artists as usually sponsors focuses on well established artists.

“It’s not that easy to make a break in the gospel music industry especially when you are starting as few sponsors invest in the genre and being a an upcoming artist makes it more hard,”he said.

Turning to his music Minister Joseph said he was brought in a christian family environment which saw him taking up the musical journey from a tender age.

“Professionally I first recorded my first six track album titled fear not in 2019, which did fairly well and in 2021 I released Position yourself with ten tracks,” he said.

Minister Joseph say the upcoming single which is in the final touches that features Carol Muzambi is titled Hukuru HwaMwari and talk about God’s mercy in a difficult economic situation and calls for people to persevere and observe how God transform people’s lives in his time.

Like any other upcoming artists Minister Joseph said lack of exposure like airplay hampers upcoming artists ambitions to be well established artists.

“We face challenges like lack of airplay which is one of the quickest way to become an established artist in this country and whilst technology has improved many aspects of life it has contributed to the downsale of physical compact discs as listeners resort to technological piracy whilst we are still yet to embrace technological advancements such as online musical sales”

One of Minister Joseph’s track off his 2021 position yourself album Poresai Nyika is a prayer for healing of nations in the face of climate change induced natural disasters and Covid-19 infections.

Minister Joseph fronts a live band, Awesome Grace which has eight members.

He has also released a single track Zororai which is a special dedication to Kuwadzana High School late Headmaster who succumbed to Covid-19 in earlier this year.

“Upcoming artists especially those in the gospel sector should be reminded that they represent the Christian community and through music we need to assist people to be positioned in a place where God wants them to be,”told this publication.
