Chinhoyi – All is set for the Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT) 5th International Conference coinciding with the tertiary institution”s 20th anniversary.
The Conference themed “Innovation, Industrialization, Growth and Sustainable Development” is running from 13 March 2023 to 17 March 2023.
The conference brings together regional and international academia to the Mashonaland West Provincial Capital where various topics on research and innovation, food systems and sustainable conservation, biodiversity, and nature conservation will be presented by various speakers.
A business and Innovation symposium will be held as part of the conference through plenary and panel discussions.
CUT Vice-Chancellor, Professor David Simbi, said all is set for the historical 5th International Conference targeting business and education sectors.
“All is set for the Chinhoyi University of Technology 5th International Conference where we are hosting at least 400 delegates as we also celebrate 20 years of educational excellence,” he said.
The Vice-Chancellor said that different people from the business community, who include former CUT students, would be exhibiting during the conference while keynote speakers from around the world expected to make presentations.
Dr. Gabriel Soropa, Acting Chairman of the International Conference local organizing committee said everything was in place for the conference.
“The Conference on Innovation, Industrialisation, Growth and Sustainable Development resonates well with the thrust of Heritage-based Education 5.0 premised on teaching, research, community engagement, innovation and industrialization that is being pushed by the Government of Zimbabwe through the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development,” he said.
At least 400 local, regional, and international delegates are expected to grace the conference.
Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovations, Science Technology Development Professor Amon Murwira is expected to officially open the conference.
Delegates will also have a chance to enjoy tourist sites in the province such as Chinhoyi Caves.
