Leading hospitality company, Rainbow Tourism Group (RTG) stole the limelight when it bagged accolades in four categories at the 2023 Sanganai/Hlanganani World Tourism Expo hosted in Bulawayo yesterday.
Officially opening the World Tourism Expo and the wards ceremony, Hon Rwodzi, the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, said she was impressed by the quality of Zimbabwe’s tourism products which she said enhances the quality of visitors’ experiences.
She hailed tourism players’ commitment to bringing innovative and ubiquitous services to consumers of various tourism products and services and said the Government of Zimbabwe will continue to work on providing an enabling environment for tourism to thrive.
“The government provides the framework, infrastructure, and policies to support tourism, while the private sector brings innovation, investment, and operational expertise. Together, we can create a vibrant and sustainable tourism ecosystem,” Hon Rwodzi said.
Under the Best Tour Operator Brand category, RTG’s Heritage Expedition was the winner while its sister entity, Gateway Stream was the second runner-up.
The Rainbow Tourism Group was also the first runner-up in the Best Hotel Stand category. It was also the second runner-up in the Best Overall Stand category.
Speaking to this publication after amassing the accolades in a tightly-contested competition, Pride Khumbula, the Public Relations Manager of the Rainbow Tourism Group said the entity feels buoyed to continue working hard so as to maintain its reputation of being among leaders in the hospitality industry.
“The four awards from the 2023 Sanganai/Hlanganani Tourism Expo are a testament to the Rainbow Tourism Group’s commitment to providing innovations that give our clients complete satisfaction. We also look forward to giving our clients all products and services in tourism under one roof.
“We also look forward to collaborating with the government, regulators, and other stakeholders in the tourism and hospitality industry in our pursuit of excellence,” Khumbula said.
There were 365 exhibitors at the 2023 Sanganai Hlanganani World Tourism Expo held in Bulawayo from 12 to 14 October. The awards competition was stiff as most of the stands were up to standards.
