AGRA, AUDA-NEPAD and IFPRI event spotlights Strategic Pathways to Agrifood Systems Transformation

The Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) in partnership with the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD), and the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) will be holding a side event during the 20th Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) and the Africa day for Food and Nutrition Security (ADFNS) in Harare, Zimbbwe.
This session will focus on the ongoing efforts by Malawi, Rwanda, Ghana, and Ethiopia in developing strategic pathways to transform their agrifood systems. These countries are in the process of creating innovative strategies aimed at enhancing food security, increasing agricultural productivity, and fostering economic resilience. The session will highlight the alignment of these strategies with the CAADP strategic objectives, providing insights into the processes, challenges, and early lessons from these nations. The session will also explore how these ongoing strategies could inspire broader efforts across Africa to meet CAADP and Malabo Agenda goals.
The meeting delves into the groundbreaking efforts of Malawi, Rwanda, Ghana, and Ethiopia in revolutionizing their agrifood systems. The side event is running under the title “Strategic Pathways to Transforming Agrifood Systems: Country Experiences and Lessons” on 31 October 2024 at the Rainbow Towers Hotel in Harare from 2 pm to 4 pm Southern Africa Time (SAT).
In this interactive session, representatives from these four pioneering countries will share their innovative strategies aimed at enhancing food security; increasing agricultural productivity; and fostering economic resilience.
