Destiny of Afrika Network (DANET) yesterday held a successful economic empowerment seminar for pastors in the Manicaland Province in Mutare, with detractors who allegedly sought to block this initiative put to shame.

Before yesterday’s successful event, Wilson Masokovere, the DANET Projects Manager; and Temba Sauramba, the Treasurer; had run a smear campaign against Reverend Obadiah Musindo, the founder of the network after sensing that the long arm of the law would catch up with them for swindling pastors of their hard-earned money in stands and housing schemes.

“The Mutare seminar was not the first by me. I’ve empowered so many pastors across Zimbabwe. I’ve enabled so many pastors to get stands. I’ve assisted so many pastors to get houses. I’ve assisted so many pastors in acquiring stands for their churches. I’ve done a lot for many pastors in this country. The economic empowerment seminar for pastors in Mutare was a huge success. This is part of Destiny of Africa Network’s leadership capacity-building initiatives. Our detractors were left with eggs in the face.

“It is clear that the Pastors are yearning for not only spiritual but economic growth as well. They made it clear that they needed resources like houses and church buildings to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ. A pastor is more effective when mobile to reach many people in the communities. This is why we said it’s important for them to have cars. We will make sure that they get the stands and houses that they were promised but duped by Masokovere and Sauramba,” Reverend Musindo said.

There was an outpouring of positive testimonies from Pastors who attended the Destiny of Afrika Network empowerment seminar in Mutare yesterday.

“Reverend Musindo preached a practical gospel that elevated me to another level in terms of personal development, and spiritual and economic growth. He taught us that being successful demands action. I would like to thank the organising team for such a powerful, and educative event,” Pastor Garikayi Siguake told Spiked Online Media.

Reverend Mercy Sithole said the seminar was eye-opening.

“The seminar was powerful indeed. Thank you Reverend Musindo and Amai. My sp[spiritual eyes have been opened and I was inspired to embrace success not only spiritually but economically,” she said.

Matilda Ssunyama said the seminar was very educative.

“It challenged men and women of God to be realistic. We were told that it’s important for pastors to own houses and run economic empowerment projects. We need to be landlords. We can also run businesses like tuckshops,” Saunyama said.
