In the spirit of leaving no place and no one behind, Dr Paul Tungwarara and the team spearheading President Mnangagwa’s empowerment schemes were yesterday in Binga District where they launched the Bicycle, Borehole, and Housing Schemes for war veterans.
The launch was held at Ndaliyoka Shopping Centre in Ward 18, Tinde, Binga, Matabeleland North Province, signalling a great milestone in the government’s efforts to drive transformative projects in the district.
Commending the initiatives, Presidential Investment Advisor, Dr Paul Tungwarara, said there is a need for citizens to rally behind individuals driving the development agenda in Zimbabwe.
“President ED Mnangagwa is committed to employment creation through his “Zimbabwe is Open for Business” philosophy, which has unlocked various opportunities for economic growth. I would like to commend people who support such initiatives like myself, Mr. Kuda Tagwirei, and Hon. Scott Sakupwanya for driving initiatives to create employment and support Vision 2030, thanks to the contributions of Zimbabwe’s business community. This collaborative effort demonstrates the government’s and private sector’s commitment to driving economic growth and development in Zimbabwe.
“President Mnangagwa’s leadership has been instrumental in promoting economic growth, with a focus on sustainable development and poverty reduction. His government has made significant strides in implementing the goals of the International Conference on Population and Development, including improving access to healthcare and education,” Dr. Tungwarara said.
The war veterans in Binga district also received bicycles and a comprehensive support package as part of President ED Mnangagwa’s new initiative. This program aims to provide transportation, assistance, and recognition to Zimbabwe’s war veterans. This is a new program introduced and each province will receive 500 bicycles, promoting mobility and connectivity for these heroes. Binga district’s war veterans were among the first beneficiaries, receiving bicycles, $40,000 for their welfare fund, a $200 take-home cash allowance each, and a food hamper.
This underscores President Mnangagwa’s commitment to honoring the contributions of Zimbabwe’s war veterans, acknowledging their integral role in defending the ethos of the liberation struggle.
Each Province will receive 500 bicycles for distribution among the war veterans.
