All is set for the Commissioning of the Kadoma Public Health Emergency Centre located at Pamela House in the CBD today and the project was described as a great achievement.

The project was made possible through a partnership with World Vision and the Ministry of Health and Child Care and the centre will significantly enhance the City’s capacity to respond to public health emergencies and provide quality healthcare services to the community.

The Kadoma Public Health Emergency Centre commissioning marks a significant milestone in Zimbabwe’s efforts to improve its healthcare infrastructure. The centre was constructed with the support of World Vision, which responded to the City of Kadoma’s request for assistance.

Speaking during the media briefing at the centre, Bhekimpilo Sithole, World Vision’s Health and Nutrition Technical Advisor, said the organisation chose Kadoma as the location for the centre due to its strategic position, which will enable it to serve as a hub for responding to health emergencies and providing healthcare services to surrounding communities.

Minister of Health and Child Care Dr. Douglas Mombeshora, is expected to officiate at the commissioning ceremony. The Minister has been instrumental in promoting the government’s vision for improving the country’s healthcare system.

The Kadoma Public Health Emergency Centre is equipped with modern medical equipment and supplies, including isolation rooms, testing laboratories, and medical supplies. The centre will play a critical role in enhancing Kadoma’s preparedness and response to public health emergencies.

The commissioning of the centre is evidence of the power of partnership and collaboration in improving the lives of vulnerable communities. World Vision’s support for the construction of the centre demonstrates the organization’s commitment to improving the health and well-being of children, families, and communities in Zimbabwe.

Various Government officials and organisations are expected to grace the occasion with Mashonaland West Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Hon Marian Chombo set to host the event.

City of Kadoma Director of Health, Dr Daniel Chirundu highlighted the city’s efforts in setting up a public health emergency centre and said they were ready for the commissioning.
