The highly anticipated ‘City to City: Best Of The Best’ tour lit up the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) on Saturday night, delivering a memorable showcase of Zimbabwean musical talent despite a delayed start of nearly two hours.
While early attendance was modest, the venue steadily filled as performances began, ultimately drawing an impressive crowd of enthusiastic fans.
Tamy Moyo kicked off the night with an energetic set, performing crowd favourites like Ndokwatoenda and Husiku Hwese. She delighted fans even further by inviting Njanja Express frontman Mark Ngwazi on stage to deliver their collaborative track, prompting a hearty sing-along.
Enzo Ishall, known as The Stallion, kept the energy high with his electrifying presence. He performed hits such as Matsimba, Magate, and Masahwira, even paying tribute to the late Soul Jah Love with an emotional rendition of Kana Ndafa.
Crowd favourites General Alladin, Master H, and the Bottom Camp band delivered powerful sets with sing-along staples like Zvirimo Mumoyo and Bum Bum Figa. Master H’s entrance was elevated by Bottom Camp Princess Anika, adding extra flair to the performance.
Speaking after the show, Master H’s manager Mpondasugar expressed gratitude for the opportunity to share the stage with top artists.
“It’s humbling to see Master H performing alongside such big names. Our job tonight was simple: to serve the fans. I believe every artist on the line-up did exactly that,” he said.
When Freeman HKD took the stage, the crowd was already in full party mode. He delivered fan favourites like Chahwiriri and Muchandinzwawo. The highlight of his set was a homage to sungura legend Alick Macheso, performing Charakupa and rallying the crowd with, “Do I have Baba Shero fans here? Wave your hands so I can see you, respect.”
There were other memorable moments too. The NASH family surprised fans by joining Nisha T on stage, adding excitement to her set despite technical delays. She ultimately delivered a commanding performance, proving her growing stature in the industry.
Rising star Ninety6 wowed the audience with his hit Gumba Kumba, while Saintfloew impressed with Wicked Weekend and his collaboration with Nisha Ts, Kutsamwa Kune Labour.
Killer T, dressed in a standout mustard suit, lived up to his “Chairman” nickname, getting fans singing along to hits like Hakete, Kana Ndanyura, and Bvunza Tinzwe.
Chillmaster, known for Horror, closed the night with songs including Usandikanganwe and Makanaka, though many in the audience had left by then.
Despite the early delays, the event—organized by Gateway Stream—was widely hailed as a resounding success, highlighting the depth and diversity of Zimbabwe’s music scene. Fans left the HICC buzzing with satisfaction and anticipation for the next edition.
