Preparations for the fourth Victoria Falls Carnival are underway with organizers unveiling the new festival format last week.
The carnival which runs every year from December 29 into the New Year, will this year have an increased capacity of up to 1500 people for its famous Train Party event among other improvements to cater for multiple revelers.
“After selling out in record time last year, we have made the exciting decision to run multiple trips to and from the secret venue, increasing the number of party-goers able to revel in this truly unique experience,” said Darry Lee, the carnival’s media liaison.
The Train Party takes a five hour vintage steam train journey through the Victoria Falls National Park to a secret location deep in the African bush.
“With Sub-Saharan Africa DJ’s pumping top tunes through the classic carriages, you’ll be in full party mood when you disembark at the secret stage set up under the African skies,” said Lee.
To keep the carnival exciting with great diversity, the organisers have liaised with venue owners in the resort town to open up their doors for ticket holders.
“Your festival ticket will act as key while you are left free to wander through the streets of Vic Falls as the town lights up with wonderful events hosted by the local backpackers, lodges and bars.
“On the evening of 29th and 30th there will be parties in town at multiple venues with free entrance for festival ticket holders,” said Lee.
“Shuttles will ferry fans to and from the party venues to specific hotels and drop-off points.”
For the New Year’s Eve extravaganza, thousands revelers are expected to party into the morning.
Lee said, “We will have over 6,000 revelers, top bands and DJ’s from all over Africa, stilt walkers, fire dancers and the best party atmosphere.
“The power house line-up will be announced as we move closer to the date, but this festival doesn’t solely rely on who’s playing, it’s the overall energy that completes the experience.”
Darryn Lee said it’s time to start planning for an amazing holiday experience.
“Every year you say you want to go. Every year you sigh, ‘I wish I had gone’. This is the year! Rally your friends and plan a New Year’s experience of a lifetime at one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World,” he said.
Held in Zimbabwe’s natural heritage park in the town of Victoria Falls, the Jameson Vic Falls Carnival is a truly magical experience.
“Nothing quite says holiday like hot, humid weather, considerate locals and fun-loving adventurous travellers. Throw in the best New Year’s Eve Party in Africa and you’re in for the time of your life,” he added.
Now in its fourth year, the Victoria Fall Carnival is hosted by Jameson Irish Whiskey and DStv.
Last year a wide array of artists among them Beatenberg, Oliver Mtukuzi, Winky D, Judgment Yard and DJ Rax put up electric performances to give revelers an unforgettable experience.
