KinderCare Zimbabwe will host the inaugural Annual conference and Awards ceremony for “Women in Business in the Education Sector (Early Childhood Development)”, under the theme, “Advancing Women’s Participation in Business- change agents of a community”.
This will be held at Cresta Jameson, Harare from 1 to 2 November 2018.
“We are honoured to have in our midst the he Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Professor Paul Mavima and the Minister of Women’s Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprise Development, Honourable Sithembiso Nyoni,”said Dr. Faith Nyamukapa, the Director of KinderCare Zimbabwe.
The conference is important in that women are vital assets in our communities. They should be applauded for taking various responsibilities and commitments to bring about transformation in their various communities. Women reside in communities and their presence in such places should be seen through the works of their hands.
“Women in the education sector are key change agents that help our children realise and see their own role in socio-economic transformation in the nation.”
KinderCare Zimbabwe is a private registered organisation that empowers women and men in the early child development (ECD) business through capacity building and skills training since 2012. The Founder of the organisation, Dr Faith Nyamukapa, is a young multi-award winning entrepreneur with over 28 Accolades and Awards received locally, regionally and internationally.
“As an organisation we believe that such partnership with various stakeholders and institutions will help women in business in the education sector to attain and offer quality education (SDG #4) to children in Zimbabwe thus laying an ideal foundation for our children at such a young age,” Dr. Nyamukapa said.
“As stated by Henry Brook Adams, “A teacher affects eternity, he or she can never tell where his influence stops”, we thus value the contribution of teachers and educators in our nation and continuously equipping them with knowledge and skills is what we always aim for. Zimbabwe is now open for business and such applies to any sector in Zimbabwe. As women, it is time for us to take advantage of such and create a mindset for effective businesses as we strive to take our various institutions to another level. Through this annual conference, women will gain knowledge, inspiration and skills that will help you run your schools effectively. As Bringham Young once said; “You educate a man; you educate an individual. You educate a woman; you educate a nation.”
She encouraged other women to be key leaders in society where they should aim to make others better as a result of their presence and making sure that their impact lasts in their absence.
“We appreciate greatly all the efforts and support being provided by educators and school directors towards the attainment of quality education in Zimbabwe.
“It is vital for school directors and staff to be dynamic, being able to be a change agent spearheading the development of knowledge, skills, technology and experiences thus enabling students to embark on economic activities that promote social equity and economic growth. They have a role to play to transform the thinking of society and mould society to be self-sustainable. It is therefore, the role of the dynamic teacher to educate learners, drive innovation and promote social equity according to Shor (1992).”
A famous writer, Anthony J.D. Angelo submits that, people should “develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow.”
It is thus, important for educators to continuously upgrade themselves with knowledge and skills in order to make themselves relevant, thereby adding value to the Education sector in Zimbabwe and the various communities they belong to.

Gertrude Mandizvidza, the Founder and Director of Good Care Pre-school and David Mascott Country School, who is also a multiple award-winning businesswoman and entrepreneur will also grace the awards ceremony and is set to give a presentation on the topic, “Pre-schools excelling in challenging times.”
