Afrotonic Sound Music, a fast-growing music production entity housed in the capital, released its epic debut EP on Wednesday night last week on YouTube and other social media platforms. Titled Afrotonic Sound Volume One, the new offering is comprised of 7 tracks.

Produced by Good Kid, the EP features veteran reggae artiste Trevor Hall – aka Ras Jabulani, Pauline Gundidza, Manzul Wahab Fazilahmed – aka Fuzzy L, Dashocca, Munyabaruka, Lord Ronald, MC Martie, Mannex and Linda the Noisemaker. The musicians are gurus in different genres and their work on Afrotonic Sound Volume One compliment the idea of Afrotonic music.

Fuzzy L (the director of Afrotonic Sound) had this to say about Afrotonic music: “Afrotonic music was a dream since 2015. This was after l had produced a collaborative track for my music with Ammara Brown. My music spoke about an international type of music which was a blend of global genres which were fused with African genres: sungura, kongonya, rhumba, etc. Afrotonic Sound is an Afro blend of music that purifies the soul. A tonic could be a mixture or a guchu,” Fuzzy L. elaborated.

A brainchild of Fuzzy L. and Pauline Gundidza, the music studio has a permanent team of 3 artistes namely Fuzzy L (director), Pauline Gundidza (marketing and brand development), and Good Kid (producer).
