Dr. Tamer Almassri, Ambassador of Palestine to Zimbabwe has expressed deep appreciation for Zimbabwe’s continued support, led by HE. Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, and reiterated that the depth of the relationship is beyond mere political affiliation.
The relations between the two countries are characterized by a shared long history and solidarity which dates back to the pre-independence era when Zimbabwe was under the brutal apartheid regime.
“We are confident that President Mnangagwa will fulfill the Vision 2030 transforming Zimbabwe into an industrial, knowledge-based upper middle-income country that provides a high quality of life to all its citizens by 2030. The state of Palestine is also confident that the country will defend and preserve the gains of the liberation struggle and independence against neo-colonial and imperialist projects of colonial governments.
“The state of Palestine will continue to deepen our relationship with Zimbabwe in different fields, especially with the new Palestinian government in place which assumed office in April 2024. Zimbabwe supports the inalienable rights of the Palestinian people and supports the initiatives that should lead to realizing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and the establishment of the independent State of Palestine. Zimbabwe is an important supporter of Palestine in the international arena,” Ambassador Almassri said.
