An upcoming gospel musician from the gold-mining city of Kadoma recently unpacked his debut music video on YouTube and other social media platforms. Nyasha Makavani (26) marked his entry into the gospel music arena when he released Ngatimukudzei Mwari – literally translated means let us praise The Lord – on the 23rd of March.

Produced at Visual Production Studios, Ngatimukudzei Mwari speaks volumes about the need to praise the Almighty. lt motivates believers to give glory to the Creator and exists as an eye-opener for non-believers.

A congregant of Assemblies of Pentecostal Methodist (A.P.M) – under Apostle Rev. T.T. Chivaviro – Makavani is inspired by Mathias Mhere. He strongly believes God is his main source of inspiration. The young artiste says he feels it is his obligation and ultimate responsibility to spread the gospel of God through music.

“I just feel it is my duty to preach the gospel of Christ through music. To me, I believe it’s a calling because dzimwe nguva ndaitomboda kuzvisiya (sometimes l thought about giving up) but ndaidzoswa mazviri (something got me back in line),” the former Gwebu Secondary School (in Buhera) explained during an interview.
