As the crippling nationwide teachers’ strike dampened the spirits of most students across the country, St James High School pupils in Zaka, Masvingo had something to cheer them up as alumnus Trywell Magura donated soccer kits to the school.

Magura, a youthful Zimbabwean entrepreneur, business coach, and motivational speaker based in South Africa, last week made a surprise donation to his former school in a bid to boost their sporting activities this year.

“Last week we donated soccer jerseys to St James High School in Zaka. I did my O Level studies there in 2010. It is my wish to see my former school thrive in various facets of life. The donation is meant to encourage youths in remote areas to work hard. I’m giving them a chance to shine through sporting activities.

“I was given a chance to motivate them to work hard, to impress on them that they can make it in life despite that they are coming from a remote area as Zaka,” said the Fly With Eagles bus proprietor.

Most rural schools in Zimbabwe are underfunded and often lack adequate resources and sports infrastructure to provide a conducive environment for learners’ development in various sporting disciplines.

The 29-year old business coach is an avid soccer fan whose rags to riches life story inspires many young people. Having grown up in Zaka as an orphan with triplets siblings, he only managed to attain O level passes owing to the unfortunate circumstances of his upbringing.

However, despite his humble background Magura excelled in business which saw him open a thriving bus service known as Fly With Eagles which offer reliable passenger transportation services to and from South Africa as well as servicing most local routes across the entire country.

Fly With Eagles, a fast-growing passenger transportation company that started in 2016 using hired taxis/Quantums as Malayitsha (cross border luggage coaches) has grown in leaps and bounds. The company now proudly operates four own buses and has branches in Johannesburg, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, and Port Elizabeth in South Africa.

“We also offer funeral services for Zimbabweans in South Africa where we repatriate their beloved deceased relatives and friends. Known as Fly With Eagles Funerals, our thrust is to help our diaspora community. We always helped our clients with the repatriation of their loved ones from South Africa, so they encouraged us to open funeral services for their convenience. That’s how it all started, and now we are a force to reckon with in the industry,” Fly With Eagles Funerals brand ambassador Esther Kanengoni added.
