Chief Charumbira graces first Parliamentary Inter-faith Conference in Morocco

Chief Fortune Charumbira, the President of the Pan African Parliament (PAP) is leading a high-level delegation to the first Parliamentary Conference on Interfaith Dialogue in Marrakesh.
H.E. Chief Fortune Charumbira and his delegation have arrived in Marrakesh, Kingdom of Morocco to take part in the Parliamentary Conference on Interfaith Dialogue. Organised by the Inter-Parliamentary Union from 13 to 15 June 2023, the conference is held under the theme: “Working together for our common future.”
The Parliamentary Conference on Interfaith Dialogue brings together political and religious leaders, along with representatives of faith-based and civil society organizations, think tanks, research bodies, scholars of religion and belief, and subject matter experts, to engage in dialogue and share good practices around some of the key issues threatening societies worldwide which engage both the religious and political spheres.
They will jointly explore action points aimed both at alleviating issues standing in the way of sustainable co-existence and at promoting respectful and inclusive societies and a more peaceful and just world.
The President of the Pan-African Parliament is expected to address the Conference on the important area in which parliaments and religion and belief intersect, which is their common interest in building resilient societies, where all members of society feel included.
