UK-based insurance and risk management company Diaspora Insurance recently launched Group Funeral Cash Plan, a development that will help lift the repatriation burden when a loved one or employee passes on.
For long, Zimbabweans have been accustomed to the traditional funeral plans that provide coffins and buses, but Group Insurance has introduced something different.
“At Diaspora Insurance, we are always on the lookout to innovate and make sure that we create holistic solutions for the common good of the diaspora communities we serve,” said the company CEO, Jeff Madzingo during a live broadcast on the day of launch.
The multi-milliom dollar company provides services to African communities across the UK, Europe, Americas, and Australia.
The funeral policies are tailor-made for Africans in the diaspora, and giving out cash in pounds, Euros, or US Dollars to the bereaved will make all things smoother, including repatriation burial, reverse repatriation or cremation.
“The group’s universal funeral policy is administered by the Group. Whereas Group Schemes are as hybrid between Group Plans and individual funeral plans wherein policyholders enjoy group benefits whilst individually managing their own policies,” he added.
“A typical Group scheme is the recently launched Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) funeral scheme launched by Diaspora Insurance designed to say welcome to CoS visa holders and all those who recently relocated abroad,” added Madzingo.
These schemes guarantee a decent send-off for loved ones and are beneficial for public relations of companies when employees pass on.
UK Diaspora Insurance has been operating since 2012 and has widened its wings to cover some 19 African diaspora nationalities worldwide and is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and FSCS.
