Zvimba – ZANU (PF) Central Committee member and Zvimba South Member of the House of Assembly, Dr. Phillip Chiyangwa has warned party members not to sell out the revolutionary party through vote-buying in the ongoing provincial party elections.

Chiyangwa said people should choose their leaders through merit and not be influenced by vote-buying.

“When you choose the provincial leadership, ensure the person you are choosing will make sure that the party resoundingly wins in the 2023 presidential elections. In ZANU (PF), let’s avoid vote-buying. That’s not the ZANU (PF) we know. We are receiving disturbing reports of that some people are going around vote-buying” he said.

Chiyangwa said the current provincial elections are for strengthening the party ahead of the 2023 general elections and not meant to divide the ZANU (PF) by allowing self centred and power-hungry people to take control of the party through the use of money to get into positions

Chiyangwa’s warning was echoed by Politburo member Ziyambi Ziyambi who said people should vote for effective party leaders who will spearhead people-centred development programs.

“We need to have people who are ready and willing to embrace the president’s vision of spearheading people-centered development programs and not those who are just power-hungry for personal gain,” he said.

ZANU (PF) is currently holding its provincial elections to choose members of the party’s provincial coordinating committees.
