Renowned church leader, Reverend Ngoni Motsi, has said the nation must rally behind initiatives being driven by Dr. Paul Tungwarara, the President’s Advisor, who is providing empowerment programmes for the veterans of the liberation struggle in pursuit of attaining Vision 2030.
Speaking to journalists in Harare today, Rev Motsi, reperesenting other church leaders, applauded Dr. Tungwarara for personally committing to improving the welfare of war veterans by spearheading President Mnangagwa’s development agenda.
“Dr. Tungwarara is one man that Zimbabweans must applaud. The money he is using to empower the war veterans is not coming from the Treasury. It is coming from the His Excellency, President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s initiatives supported by businessmen like Tungwarara” Reverend Motsi said.
Through the Presidential War Veterans Fund, Dr Tungwarara has led the disbursement of US$150 000 each to the provinces of Masvingo, Mashonaland Central, Mashonaland East, Bulawayo, and Midlands.
The fund, which totals US$1.5 million nationwide, is part of the government’s efforts to support veterans who played a pivotal role in Zimbabwe’s liberation struggle.
In addition to this, President Mnangagwa, through Dr. Tungwarara, has introduced the Wa rVeterans Rural Housing Scheme, a game-changing initiative that will provide housing for Zimbabwe’s heroes.
As a pilot project, 100 houses will be built in each province under the Presidential War Veterans Housing and Borehole Scheme, and more projects to empower war veterans are in the pipeline.
This is a remarkable demonstration of President Mnangagwa’s commitment to supporting the country’s war veterans and improving their livelihoods without burdening the teaxpayers. This is a testament of the President’s love for war veterans.
The Presidential War Veterans Housing Scheme is a testament to the President’s vision for a better future for Zimbabwe’s war veterans. By providing them with decent housing, the President is acknowledging their sacrifices and contributions to the country’s liberation.
This initiative is also a reflection of President Mnangagwa’s track record of fulfilling his promises. Previously, he launched the Presidential Poultry Scheme, Presidential Input Scheme, Presidential Heifer Scheme, Presidential Borehole, and Goat Scheme, which benefited over 10,000 households across Zimbabwe and resulted in a 14% increase in production. Similarly, he handed over hundreds of title deeds to Epworth residents, with a target of 38,000 documents for the area.
“As peace-loving Zimbabweans, we must support such initiatives. It is time to rally behind people like Dr. Tungwarara who are committed to seeing Zimbabwe prosper in all spheres of life. Dr. Tungwarara lefe a confrtable and luxurious life in Dubai to come and serve the people of Zimbabwe under the visionary leadership of President E. D Mnangagwa,” said Patson Murimoga, a youth activist dedicated to seeing a united country; and an avid proponent of Vision 2030.
