The Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Hon Dr. Torerai Moyo commissioned the Kuredza Government Technical Primary School’s Early Childhood Development (ECD) block, three specialist rooms, led a field day, and awarded the school the first prize in commercial ventures in Kadoma on Monday.

The significant event marked a milestone in the school’s development by enhancing its infrastructure and facilities to support early childhood education.

Located in Kadoma, Kuredza Government Technical Primary School has been serving the community with dedication and passion for 60 years. With a focus on providing quality education, the school has been working tirelessly to improve its infrastructure and facilities.

The newly constructed state-of-the-art ECD block is a significant addition to the school’s facilities, providing a conducive learning environment for young students. It is equipped with modern amenities and resources, catering to the needs of early childhood development. This development is proof of the school’s commitment to providing holistic education.

The new ECD block is a result of the school’s partnership with Kadoma’s Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints headed by District President, Wellington Mbira, who generously funded its construction.

Additionally, the church donated state-of-the-art equipment to the school’s Woodwork, Home Economics, and Visual and Performing Arts departments, further enriching the learning experience for students.

The Guest of Honour’s presence at the event highlights the government’s commitment to education and community development. As the head of the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education, Dr. Moyo plays a crucial role in shaping the country’s education sector promoting high-quality, inclusive, and relevant education.

In his speech, the Minister applauded the churches as they have been instrumental in education and urged them to continue investing in the education sector.

“Churches have been instrumental in education since time immemorial, providing a foundation for learning and character development. Their contributions have been invaluable, and we appreciate their continued support in shaping the minds of our future generations,” said the Minister.

He said investment in education was not in vain but critical in promoting appropriate culture, values, and norms for society’s development.

Running under the theme: 60 Years of Taking Pride in our Heritage while Laying Foundations for the Future, this milestone is a testament to the dedication of educators, students, and the community.

The handover ceremony of the ECD classroom block and the celebration of the school’s 60th anniversary is a significant moment in the school’s history, highlighting the ongoing efforts to provide quality education and nurture future generations.

Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Kuredza Government Technical Primary School Head, Mr Anthony Mapindani, said the facilities were equipped with modern equipment, tools, and machinery to provide learners and nonformal students with hands-on experience.

“These technical facilities will also be used by our non-formal students and today as we celebrate this event, we proudly embrace the principles of Education 5.0 and Vision 2030 for fostering innovation, research, and industrialisation for a brighter future,” Mr. Mapindani said

Senior Government Officials, including the District Development Coordinator, the District school inspectors from Mhondoro and host Sanyati District, and school heads, among others, graced the occasion.

The collaboration between Kuredza Primary School and the Latter-day Saints Kadoma serves as a model for future community partnerships and support for education initiatives.
