Engineer Edzai Kachirekwa bags the Innovation in Energy Sector Award

Engineer Dr. Edzai Kachirekwa has once again stamped authority as an industry leader after winning Emerging Brands Africa’s Innovation in Energy Sector Award.

The Emerging Brands in Africa Awards is an initiative designed to recognize and celebrate the remarkable achievements of diverse brands in Africa that are showcasing significant growth across various sectors. The inaugural edition, the Emerging Brands in Africa 2025, will be a prestigious gala event held on the 1st of March, 2025 at Siyekhaya Estates in Borrowadale, Harare, Zimbabwe. This awards ceremony honours individuals, organisations, and businesses that have shown resilience and branding prowess.

The awards also honor emerging brands in Africa across various sectors that excel in their respective areas through innovative practices, exceptional delivery, amazing performances, and impactful contributions to the economy and society.

They are meant to promote a culture of excellence by encouraging brands to strive for higher standards and increase competitiveness. In addition, they provide a platform for the most promising and exciting brands, industry leaders, government officials, and entrepreneurs to network, exchange ideas, and foster collaborations that can propel Africa forward.

The awards also raise awareness of the contributions and the potential of emerging Brands in Africa to the local and international markets, enhancing their visibility and brand recognition.

In his award acceptance speech, Engineer Kachirekwa said whenever one puts effort into their work without seeking attention, the results are never easy to ignore.

“I believe it’s a journey which is being recognized after 27 years of hard work. We have points where mountains pretend to be life blockers or dead ends” but there’s a need to pursue your dream until one reaches his or her destiny.

“I am humbled by how my fellow citizens have been supporting my techno-prenurial journey. Complaining against adversity will never change situations, but correctly positioning yourself and arming yourself with the right tools for war engagements is the only way to the top. There are no wars that have been fought without a victory. The deeper you go down with your foundations, the higher your project,” Engineer Kachirekwa said.
