Father Flower Group of Schools Clinches Victory in National ball games Competition

In a thrilling display of athleticism and teamwork, Father Flower Group of Schools emerged victorious in the highly anticipated National ball games competitions in Harare on Thursday.
The school’s teams dominated at the National ball games finals pitting the Christ Group of Schools and Father Flower Group of schools, showcasing their exceptional skills in various sports including soccer, volleyball, handball, and netball. Their outstanding performance earned them a total of 6 trophies.
The National Ball Games competitions were organized by the Association of Independent Schools Colleges in Zimbabwe(AICZ), hosted by Christ College Group of Schools in Harare.
Father Flower Group of Schools’ victory was met with cheers and celebrations from their supporters who travelled with the teams to support and witness the exciting event.
The school’s soccer team, dubbed the “Father Flower Academy,” thrashed their arch-rivals, the hosts, Christ College Group of Schools by 6 goals to 2, securing the gold medal. The girls’ and boys’ volleyball teams also emerged victorious, defeating Christ Group of Schools by 2:0 respectively in closely contested matches.
The netball and handball teams for both boys and girls also won gold medals.
In his speech, the Guest of Honour, Professor Washington Mahiya, said it was a great honour to be part of the National Ball Games final competitions.
“I am thrilled to congratulate Father Flower Group of Schools on their outstanding victory in the National Ball Games Competitions this year,” said the Professor.
“Your dedication, teamwork, and passion for excellence have paid off, and we are all proud of your achievement,”
AICZ President, Professor Washington Mahiya, further said he was delighted to see their member schools excelling in various fields, including sports.
“Father Flower Group of Schools’ triumph is a testament to the quality of education and the emphasis on extracurricular activities that our schools provide,” he said.
“I urge you all to continue striving for excellence and making your schools and your country proud. Remember that success is not just about winning, but also about the values of sportsmanship, discipline, and perseverance that you have demonstrated throughout this competition,” Once again, I congratulate Father Flower Group of Schools on their well-deserved victory.
Father Flower Group of School’s Director General (Ex-cop), Mr Jimmy Remekani, said, “Today, we made history! Our school has won all six Trophies – a feat that will be remembered for years to come. I am so proud of every one of our students, coaches, and staff who have worked tirelessly to achieve this incredible accomplishment.”
