Foreign Affairs Minister SB Moyo is no more

Zimbabwe has lost a liberation war hero, Retired General Sibusiso Busi Moyo, who was the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade.

This publication first got the news of his passing on the Twitter Handle of Heart and Soul radio station before reliable sources within the government confirmed the general’s death.

Minister Sibusiso B Moyo is remembered by many Zimbabweans for his statement, “The President is safe and sound. We are only targeting criminals around the First Family,” that he delivered while announcing the coup of November 2017 that removed the late President Robert Mugabe and his G40 henchmen from power.

Minister Moyo reportedly succumbed to COVID-19 but other reports suggest that he had been unwell before the pandemic. In 2018, the late General Moyo was reportedly airlifted to South Africa for emergency treatment.

The late Minister Moyo is also praised for working round the clock to ensure that frosty relations between Zimbabwe and the West are thawed as he was spearheading the re-engagement drive.
