The Freedom of Rights Under Sovereign (FORUS) Party lit up Bulawayo, the City of Kings and Queens, with a message of love, unity, peace, and development as it moved to put in place structures that will spearhead its campaign ahead of the 2023 plebiscite.
“We have different geographical places and a variety of languages but we are one people as Zimbabwe. Under FORUS, unity is the binding force that transcends colour, race, creed, ethnicity, or religious and political persuasions. We will not let Tonga, Ndau, Ndebele, English, Chewa, Shona, or any other language separate us.
“We appreciate our diversity in terms of regional peculiarities but as FORUS, we would like to work for equal distribution of our national coffers through a robust devolution programme. Our motto is ‘Forward with Development’ meaning no one will be left behind in our sustainable development initiatives,” said Manyara Irene Muyenziwa, the FORUS President.
She hailed the 1987 Unity Accord between ZANU (F) and PF ZAPU that brought the two parties together and ended the Gukurahundi atrocities.
“As a peace-loving party, the move to unite the two parties was noble. FORUS appreciates efforts by the National Peace and Reconciliation Commission (NPRC) and other key stakeholders working to promote national peace and unity. We win together as united than we are divided. FORUS will form a unified government that respects diversity,” she added.
The FORUS Bulawayo structures have vibrant team members willing to work for the development of the country from the grassroots going upwards. Work has already started to spearhead development programmes with project proposals fielded to the National Executive to be considered for implementation.
