Many students in Zimbabwe find it hard to proceed to tertiary learning institutions due to a plethora of challenges, chief among them the lack of financial resources but Global Careers Connection has emerged to be the panacea to these problems.

In an interview with Mr. John Muchenje, Global Careers Connection Chief Executive Officer, Spiked Online Media learned that the institution offers a variety of services.

“We offer many services that are important in guiding students to fulfill their career ambitions. These include career guidance. Under this, we look at the strengths and weaknesses of prospective candidates for scholarships. According to their passions, we guide them to pursue appropriate career paths.

“We also offer varied scholarship packages for various tertiary academic disciplines. These include all enginnering programmes like aeronotics, mechanical, bio-medical, petroleum and natural gas, electrical and electronic, chemical and civil engineering; medicine; pharmacy;  dentistry; faculty of economics and administrative sciences; pure arts; fine arts; and theological studies among others,” Mr. Muchenje said.

Global Careers Connection also provides educational workshops and tours for various students. They are also leaders in the enrolment to some of the world’s best ranked universities. These include universities like Near University in Cyprus that is ranked the 30th best university at the global level; Number 2 in Turkey and Number 1 in Cyprus.

“We also help with Visa applications for our students as well as post-arrival services such as securing accommodation and follow up on student welfare until completion of degree programs. Global Careers Connection also disseminates accurate information about specific universities for various students,” Mr. Muchenje added.

In an endeavour to achieve the above, Global Careers Connection works jointly with the Ministry of Public Service, Labour, and Social Welfare as resource persons for schools districts career fares. They are also in partnership with the Zimbabwe Council for Higher Education (ZIMCHE) and various Embassies in Zimbabwe including the Embassy of Turkey, among others.

To ease the financial burden on parents, Global Careers Connection conducts online scholarship examinations every two months so that students get self-attained scholarships based on their performance.
