Holly Budge, Founder and Chairman of UK Charity, How Many Elephants, recently won a Gold Stevie® Award for ‘Woman of the Year in Non-Profit’ in the 20th Stevie® Awards for Women in Business, held in New York City.

The Stevie® Awards have been hailed as the world’s premier business awards. President, Maggie Miller, says, “In its 20th year, the Stevie® Awards for Women in Business received an outstanding number of nominations from women in 26 nations. We congratulate all of this year’s winners for their achievements.”

Holly launched World Female Ranger Week (June 23-30) two years ago, to amplify the voices of female wildlife rangers worldwide. Many of these women are on the front line of conservation protecting wildlife on the brink of extinction. Through Holly’s campaign, over 500 million viewers have been reached so far in the global media, including live interviews with Holly and the rangers, on Sky News, BBC Womans Hours, and Times Radio. Holly has spent much time over the past decade on the front line with all-female and mixed ranger teams across Africa. She has seen first-hand the significant ripple effect of investing in women from rural communities. And how bringing gender equity into the ranger workforce strengthens community relationships, with women being natural communicators, and educators and investing their earned income in their families.

“I’m truly honoured to have won a Gold Stevie® Award for ‘Woman of the Year in Non-profit’. A huge thanks to the Stevie® Awards for recognising the work and impact of my non-profit, How Many Elephants and World Female Ranger Week. I’ve dedicated this award to all the inspiring female wildlife rangers I’ve had the privilege of working & patrolling with on the front line. Many have overcome great adversity and marginalisation and becoming rangers has empowered them, presenting opportunities and hope” says Holly.

Holly also received three Silver Stevie® Awards for ‘Female Innovator of the Year in Non-Profit’, ‘Female Thought Leader of the Year in Non-Profit’ and ‘Most Innovative Woman of the Year in Non-Profit’.
