Hospice and Palliative Care Association of Zimbabwe (HOSPAZ) and the whole Aflatoun movement are happy to announce the return of Global Money Week and Aflatoun Day celebrations this March.
What is Global Money Week (GMW)?
GMW is an annual global initiative raising awareness about the importance of financial literacy so that young people, from an early age, are financially aware, and are gradually acquiring the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviors necessary to make sound financial decisions and ultimately achieve financial well-being and financial resilience. This year’s theme, “Protect your money, secure your future” emphasizes the crucial role financial education plays in empowering young people to manage their finances responsibly and build a secure future.
Throughout the whole week young people, governments, schools, universities, and experts from NGOs and the private sector will come together to:
- Discuss and share ideas on financial literacy challenges and opportunities faced by young people globally, regionally, and locally.
- Engage in a panel discussion on innovative solutions to real-world financial challenges.
- Learn from best practices on financial education and youth financial inclusion.
HOSPAZ will be joining other Aflatoun partners from 100+ countries to highlight the importance of financial education for all children and youth in Zimbabwe and around the world. Through a global online platform and a series of live streams, young people from Zimbabwe will connect with thousands of young people from around the world and will engage with influencers and policymakers sharing their insights and initiatives.
Together with Aflatoun’s network, we will also actively participate in a series of events, available on Aflatoun’s GMW platform: https://aflatoun.mn.co/
5 Hybrid Events located in Ivory Coast, Poland, Philippines, Morocco, and Albania.
13 Live Streams – conducted in English, Arabic, Spanish, Russian, and French -aimed at connecting with thousands globally to share insights and initiatives related to Global Money Week and Aflatoun Day 2024.

About HOSPAZ
Hospice and Palliative Care Association of Zimbabwe (HOSPAZ) is a national membership body, registered in Zimbabwe in 1999 as a private voluntary organization (PVO 13/99). It has over 100 members who provide a wide range of comprehensive HIV prevention, treatment, care, and support services as well as palliative care services throughout the country. The organization’s mission is to promote palliative care (comprehensive treatment, care, and support services) and support palliative care service providers, through capacity development, advocacy, and membership coordination. HOSPAZ is implementing the PEPFAR/USAID-supported Bvumbamira Vana Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) project whose overall goal is to improve health, safety, education, and stability outcomes for orphans and other vulnerable children, adolescents, and youth affected and infected by HIV in Zimbabwe. One of the key strategic objectives of this project is to improve economic stability and educational attainment for vulnerable children and their families through financial literacy training and business enterprise development.
