Heinous crimes of assassination were committed by the Israeli apartheid occupation forces against at least 9 Palestinians and while injuring dozens of others during an invasion of the city of Jenin, northern occupied West Bank.
It was reported that the Israeli occupation forces prevented ambulances from reaching the wounded by shooting at medical personnel. The brutal Israeli occupation forces also fired tear gas bombs towards the pediatric section of Jenin Government Hospital, causing suffocation cases from gas inhalation among Palestinians, including mothers and children.
Commenting on the developments, HE Tamer Almassri, the Ambassador of Palestine to Zimbabwe said the latest crime is a continuity of Israel’s ongoing aggression on the Palestinian people as well as an act of war that should not be tolerated.
“These extra-judicial killings are the consequence of the regular resort to lethal force by well-armed and well-protected Israeli apartheid security personnel against Palestinians and total lack of accountability for killings of Palestinians by Israeli apartheid forces.
“We hold the apartheid Israeli government fully and directly responsible for these heinous crimes, especially in light of the instructions issued at the highest political and military level, which facilitate the shooting and killing of the Palestinians as pre-death sentences.
“We are disappointed with the international community’s failure to act against the Israeli violations on Palestinians. We, therefore, call on the progressive peoples, governments, and human rights organizations to condemn and hold Apartheid Israel accountable for these heinous crimes and protect our people.
“The state of Palestine calls on the International Criminal Court to quickly start its investigations into the crimes perpetrated by the apartheid Israel government and we also call on the UN Security Council to stop the policy of double standards in dealing with international issues, especially on Palestine and to assume its legal and moral responsibilities towards the violations and crimes that our people are subjected to,” Ambassador Almassri said.
