Hip hop’s new kid on the block, Josh TG – real name Jushua Godobo – is optimistic his recently released 12-track album Mandiso, launched on social media platforms a fortnight ago, will propel him to stardom.

Affectionately known as Palmer in hip hop circles, the 27-year-old Marondera-born musician developed a passion for the microphone at the early age of 15.

The year 2016 saw the budding artiste recording a 12-track demo tape titled Demo Tape. Over the years, Josh TG has released over 60 tracks and has been able to work with and share the stage with celebrated musicians.

Diamond Musica, ProBeatz, Ngoni Kambarami, Othnel Mangoma, and Mr. Filbert Marova of Zim Jazz Community Trust are some of the big names he (Josh TG) has brushed shoulders with since his arrival in the hip hop arena.

A Midlands State University graduate, Josh TG had this to say about his sources of inspiration: “l am mainly inspired by French rappers like Maitre Gims, Stromae, MHD and Jamaican artistes like Busy Signal and Chronnix.”

The young musician is currently finalizing plans for a collaboration with Lex Lafoy, a Durban-based South African artiste. The fruition of the collaboration is highly likely considering the fact that the duo successfully worked together last year.
