Despite acknowledging that this year had major shortfalls for him as a musician and entrepreneur, 1NO – real name Tafadzwa Takunda Dodzo – has taken the time to hail his successes in the music industry.

This year saw the young musician playing pivotal roles in the fruition of a number of musical projects.

“We managed to release 5 albums, 2 instrumental albums, and 2 videos, making it 9 projects,” the soft-spoken artiste said elatedly.

Formerly known as Destiny Of 1 Child,1NO (1 Nation Only), launched his music career when he released his debut music piece in 2008.

The multi-genre musician had this to say about the change of stage names: “l was formerly known as Destiny of 1 Child.l took the 1 from that stage name and added the word NO. The letters on the word formed an acronym to give it a deeper meaning. I am someone who connects with different worlds to create unity through artistry, thereby creating 1 nation only under God”

Inspired by inspired Jeezy and Guccimane – among others – 1NO started making beats in 2011. He elaborated thus: “l started making beats in 2011 when I was in my first year at Chinhoyi University. My homie and classmate, Brad Jae used to make beats on my laptop and was impressed by how I could suggest concepts, so he encouraged me to learn FL Studio. I have been doing a lot of multimedia work ever since, up until all the A.Z.G.O.D M.A.F.I members were now qualified to take their rightful roles.”

Over the years, 1NO has been instrumental in assisting upcoming local musicians by nurturing them and giving them the necessary exposure.
