Kadoma’s finest artistes to be recognised for outstanding contributions

Kadoma artistes are set to be recognised for their contributions to the industry during the Kadoma Entertainment Awards ceremony set to be held at African Barrel Lounge on the 18th of January 2025 in Kadoma.

 

The event, which will take place on a Saturday, will recognise the outstanding contributions of Kadoma’s artistes in the world of music, dance, theater, modelling, and visual arts.

 

Kadoma Entertainment Awards (KEA), is hosting the event for the first time but the awards ceremony is expected to become a highly anticipated event in the city’s cultural calendar. Running under the theme ‘Elevate Local Talent, Elevate Kadoma, the awards ceremony will feature live performances, awards presentations, and a celebration of the city’s vibrant arts scene.

 

This year’s nominees include some of Kadoma’s most talented artistes include musicians, dancers, actors, and visual artists. The nominees were selected from a pool of entries, and the winners will be chosen by a panel of judges made up of industry experts and arts professionals.

 

“We are thrilled to be honouring the best of Kadoma’s artistic talent at this year’s awards ceremony,” said Ramish Hungwe, the organiser of the event.

 

“The city has a rich cultural heritage, and we are proud to be recognizing the contributions of our artisets to the world of arts and culture,” continued Hungwe.

 

The awards ceremony will take place in Waverly and will feature a range of performances, including music, dance, and theater. The event will also include an exhibition of visual arts, showcasing the work of some of Kadoma’s most talented artists.

 

The winners of the awards will receive a range of prizes, including cash awards, trophies, and certificates of recognition.

 

“The awards ceremony will likely feature performances, exhibitions, and showcases of various talents, including music, dance, theater, visual arts, and more. Winners may receive awards, prizes, or recognition, which can help boost their careers and confidence,” said Hungwe.

 

The Kadoma Entertainment Awards is a significant event in the city’s cultural calendar and provides a platform for artists to showcase their work and receive recognition for their contributions to the world of arts and culture. The event is also an opportunity for the city to celebrate its rich cultural heritage and to promote the arts as a vital part of the community.

 

During an interview, Hungwe said the awards will be more exciting with the beauty pageant Miss Super Queen Zimbabwe which is a beauty pageant or competition that aims to celebrate and empower women in Zimbabwe.

 

“To put the icing on the cake, we are going to have a beauty pageant and we are privileged to have a special guest Model coming from India (Richa Sharma) who happens to be Miss Ecology India) and she also has other titles and the Miss Super Queen Zimbabwe contestants will be coming from Harare, Bindura, Marondera, Kwekwe, and Kadoma,” said Hungwe.

 

According to the event organiser, entertainment will be provided by various musical artists including DJ Young Tee, DJ Gunshot, DJ Sky Zayn, A.J Choreographers, Charles Pintec, Mai Mukarati, Mai Mutinhimira, Olivia Mukuvhengu, Kings the Rapper among other nominated creative.

 

The recognition of artistes in Kadoma is long overdue, and the Kadoma Entertainment Awards is a step in the right direction. The awards will not only recognize the achievements of established artistes but also provide a platform for emerging artistes to showcase their talent. The event will also provide an opportunity for artists to network and collaborate, which will help to promote the growth and development of the arts industry in the city.
