Chinhoyi – Mashonaland West Minister for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Hon Mary Mliswa-Chikoka has recorded another first by bagging a prestigious award.
Hon Mliswa-Chikoka was awarded Outstanding Woman CEO Award 2022 by CEO Network Zimbabwe, making history as the first provincial minister of state to receive such an accolade.
The Mashonaland West Province’s first citizen was awarded the gong for being and displaying a quintessential rare breed of meta-analysis leadership.
The ZANU PF Mashonaland West Provincial Chairman was awarded a platinum accolade for being Outstanding Woman CEO.
Hon Mliswa-Chikoka, known as the ‘Iron Lady’ of Mashonaland West province, has been demonstrating acute statesmanship in leading community development and economic emancipation in the province.
Hon Mliswa-Chikoka paid tribute to President Emerson Mnangagwa for encouraging and urging hard work and servant leadership.
“I am humbled and grateful for such an award that has allowed me to lift the banner of women politicians and push us to excel more and demonstrate that we must be servant leaders as we are always taught by President Mnangagwa,” she said.
Various stakeholders congratulated Hon Mliswa-Chikoka and said she has been working tirelessly in the province to deserve such an award.
“She has been demonstrating that one has to work hard and be diligent in serving our people. This award is a testimony that women can deliver the best for our communities. We are so happy that one of us has achieved such an honour,” Hon Marian Chombo, the Deputy Minister of Local Government and Zvimba North constituency legislator said.
Douglas Chiwiro, Provincial Director of the Minister of State’s office said the award is a testimony that the government’s women’s emancipation programs are bearing fruit.
“The awarding of this platinum award to our Minister of State is proof that women are doing exploits in leadership roles and it is a testimony that the government’s program on women emancipation is bearing fruit,” he said.
