Viacom International Media Networks Africa and MultiChoice Africa effected music channel changes on the DStv platform on Tuesday March 5, introducing MTV Music 24 as a replacement for VH1.
Liz Dziva, publicity and public relations manager of MultiChoice Zimbabwe, said MTV Music 24 would offer DStv viewers the latest music videos from all genres, including pop, dance, rock and urban, and stretching from firm favourites to future hits.
Also with effect from March 5, a number of channels would be available in high definition viewing, including MTV Base (DStv channel 322), MTV (channel 130), Comedy Central (channel 122) and BET Africa (channel 129).
“The upgrade to HD forms an important part of VIMN Africa’s distribution strategy with MultiChoice in order to drive innovation to viewers,” said Ms Dziva.
“The DStv brand has always benefitted from the innovative customer offerings that come from the Viacom stable. These have included putting local talent in the limelight through well-established international brands. The addition of MTV Music 24 is a development that will delight viewers.”
