A Gutu businessman Mutonho Mutonho is leading developmental projects and philanthropy works in the Gutu West constituency, in the process benefitting thousands of households, this publication can reveal.

This Thursday, the astute businessman is going to donate bicycles to village heads and there will be a music gala to cap off this gesture.

Speaking to this publication, organisers of this upcoming event said preparations were already at an advanced stage.

“I would like to call all residents of Gutu West to converge at Stephen Township where we will officially hand over bicycles to village heads and war veterans from the various wards dotted around the constituency. There will be food and drinks galore and a music gala to celebrate this,” confirmed one of the organisers.

Entertainment will be provided by Obvious Mutani who coincidentally hails from the same area and will be supported by ‘surprise’ guest artistes.

“I am going to belt some of my best songs and I am grateful that I will be ably supported by some big names in the Sungura industry. I urge people to come in their numbers and not miss such a rare festivity,” revealed Mutonho.

Mutonho, who is a ZANU PF DCC chairman has also been donating food hampers to impoverished households, and to date, over 20 000 families have benefitted from this philanthropic gesture.

He has also been paying medical bills for the ailing elderly in Gutu West.

Apart from doing charity work, he has also been supporting some small-scale farmers with inputs and to date, some are now into lucrative potato farming.

This publication caught up with a villager from Chikosha Village who expressed delight in what the businessman was doing saying he has never seen such a gesture from the incumbent Member of Parliament and his predecessors.

“What Mutonho has done in a short period is what we always have yearned for in this constituency. From the leadership of the late VP Muzenda and Shuvai Mahofa to the current MP Paradza, we haven’t seen someone who is development-oriented like this man.

“Most of us now agree that such characters should be given the mandate to lead the constituency,” said the villager who requested anonymity.

According to the media-shy Rwodzi, his aim is to mobilise votes for Zanu PF and he is strongly behind the incumbent legislator John Paradza.

“This is solely about development and not politicking. My mantra is ED Pfee. Senator Matuke Pfee. Boss Para Pfee. MaCouncillors Edu Ese Pfee #5 million votes #mabhasikoro kumaSabhuku #mabhasikoro kumaWar Veterans #Mabhasikoro kumaVillage Chairman #EDFiveMoreYears(loosely translated to I support President Emmerson Mnangagwa and the current leadership in the constituency and will donate bicycles to war veterans, village heads and ruling party village chairs,” he said.
