The NetOne Fathers’ Day Digital Campaign lived up to its billing when the leading mobile telephony giant threw a lavish party for the winners at a popular entertainment joint in the capital city today.

Addressing invited merrymakers on the auspicious event dubbed “Fathers’ Day Braai”, Engineer Raphael Mushanawani, the NetOne Group Chief Executive Officer acknowledged the presence of the telephony giant’s esteemed winners, their Fathers, invited guests, media personnel, NetOne’s Management, and Staff

“I would like to take this moment to recognize all the fathers here present, on this special occasion of Father’s Day as we connect with you in a very social and light-hearted space. Fathers are the backbone of our families and society, and their contributions cannot be overstated.

“At NetOne, we understand the importance of family and the role that fathers play in shaping the lives of their children and society as a whole. They are our first teachers, our role models, and our pillars of strength. They inspire us to be the best version of ourselves and to strive for greatness in everything we do.

“As we celebrate Father’s Day, I would like to express my gratitude to all the fathers who endeavour to provide for their families and create a better future for their children. Your love, guidance, and unwavering support are truly invaluable. As you transform the lives of your families, you transform communities too!” Engineer Mushanawani said.

He reiterated NetOne’s commitment to supporting its employees by providing flexible and family-friendly conditions of service in the understanding that work demands sometimes make it challenging to balance family commitments, hence ensuring that the company’s employees have the support they need to succeed both at work and at home. It is against this background that NetOne has a greater appreciation for the work fathers do in shaping the lives of empowered generations.

Eng Mshanawani thanked NetOne customers for their support, and for taking part in the NetOne Digital Father’s Day Campaign held on the company’s Corporate social media platforms (Facebook & Twitter).

“Congratulations to all the winners! This has facilitated an opportunity for us to foster lasting relations and memories. Your support for the NetOne brand is truly humbling and valued. Stay connected on the network.

To all the fathers here present, I extend our appreciation for the critical role that you play in society at large. Your love, support, and guidance does not go unnoticed. Happy Father’s Day to you all, enjoy your braai, and let’s network!” he added.

Mr. Learnmore Musunda, the NetOne General Manager of Financial Services encouraged customers to continue partnering with the telephony giant so they enjoy a wide array of products and services that the company offers in pursuit of attaining Vision 2030.

Mr. Tendai Chisiri, one of the winners, said he cherishes a father as a protector of families, breadwinner, and disciplinarian who guides children to have a bright future.

Dr. Olivia Gumbo, a celebrated author, and businesswoman said fathers are special in many ways.

“I love my father, he is a loving man. I, however, would like to acknowledge that there are children who do not have the presence of their biological fathers in their lives due to death or divorce. These children can find Godly father figures such as uncles, grandparents, and church pastors to play the fatherly role.

“My book entitled Parenting Children of Influence in the Digital Age has a dedicated chapter on the importance of fathers. Fathers are important in several ways.
“A Father blesses his children with fatherly and apostolic blessings. Fatherly blessings only come from fathers, not mothers. We saw in the bible how Jacob blessed his son Joseph to take dominion. Fathers prepare their children for rulership, to lead in their sphere of influence, which can be in business, taking over chieftainships, or being pastors. Fathers facilitate a successful transition of power to their children. King David prepared King Solomon to take over Kingship. This can be done by ensuring that their children have the resources and capable people to guide them and walk with them in righteous paths.
“Fathers bless their children to continue with their family legacy. They do this by preparing a succession plan for their children through training and equipping their children especially sons to start adult life. Fathers are destiny-helpers for their children by giving their children practical steps to take to attain their goals and dreams. Fathers also play a role in comforting, urging, and directing their children in God’s ways. This includes working with their hands, looking after and praying for their families, generating income, and interacting with other men and women of influence.
“Finally, a key aspect of fathering includes teaching boys how to love and treat their wives, as God has laid out in the bible. Husbands who love their wives as the word of God commands will earn respect from their children. My father has earned my respect by the way he loves my mother, and my husband also earned my sons’ respect because he loves me. If you would like to learn more about fathering and parenting children born in the digital age, may you please buy my book, each copy is going for $15. Today I will be signing the copies. Before I go, I want to give away 1 book to someone who can give me 2 important aspects of fathers that I talked about,” Dr. Gumbo said.
