PAP’s Chief Charumbira among dignitaries at President John Mahama’s inauguration

Chief Fortune Zephania Charumbira, the President of the Pan African Parliament (PAP), is among the dignitaries who witnessed the grand inauguration of John Dramani Mahama as Ghana’s President-elect.

 

President Mahama’s inauguration today marked the beginning of a new chapter in the nation’s history. Distinguished leaders, including Zimbabwe’s Defense Minister Hon. O.C.Z. Muchinguri-Kashiri representing His Excellency, President E.D Mnangagwa currently on official leave, Pan African President, Chief Fortune Charumbira, Former South African President, Jacob Zuma, Former Namibian President Nangolo Mbumba and President Duma Boko of Botswana, gathered to witness the event, underscoring the spirit of African unity and cooperation.

 

With a focus on addressing economic challenges and promoting regional stability, Mahama’s Presidency promises to bring renewed hope and growth to Ghana and the broader African continent.

 

In his invitation letter to Chief Charumbira, the Rt. Hon Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, the Speaker of Parliament of Ghana, said as Ghana transitions to a new political administration and begins a new legislative session, it acknowledges the significance of building strong ties and collaboration among Parliaments across the African region.

 

He said the PAP’s presence is a symbol of unity, shared values, and commitment to democratic governance in respective African countries.

John Dramani Mahama is the sixth President of the Fourth Republic of Ghana. He was also the fourth President of the Fourth Republic of Ghana, having previously occupied the high office of President between January 7, 2013 and January 6, 2017.
Born 66 years ago to Mr E. A. Mahama and Madam Abiba Nnaba in Damongo, in the now Savannah Region of Ghana, Mahama made history as Ghana’s first President to serve at all political levels. He was a Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi Constituency, Deputy Minister for Communications, Minister for Communications, Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, and President of the Republic of Ghana. He is also a former member of the Pan African Parliament.
