A new era dawned on the morning of Thursday 12th March 2020 when the Parliament of Zimbabwe launched its new caucus focusing on Population Development, Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (PDSRHR)
The caucus seeks to incubate and propagate a new generation of Parliamentary Champions who will help to promote or proactively advocate for all issues and rights related to PDSRHR both from a national and international perspective.
The launch event was co-hosted by the Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee for Health and Childcare Dr. Ruth Labode and the Chairperson for the Portfolio Committee for Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development Mr. Daniel Molokele
The meeting adopted several resolutions and action points on the way forward
One of the key resolutions focused on a plan to have a broader public launch event that is likely to be in the form of a breakfast meeting were all the various stakeholders in this sector will be invited to partner with the new Parliamentary caucus on PDSRHR
