The wait for the completion of Chahwanda Stadium in Kwekwe is almost over, with Prophet Walter Magaya revealing that the construction project is progressing steadily and the stadium is expected to be completed by the end of March this year, marking a major milestone in Zimbabwe’s sports infrastructure development.

The city of Kwekwe is set to become a hub for sports development in Zimbabwe, thanks to the construction of the Chahwanda Stadium, a state-of-the-art facility being built by Prophet Walter Magaya and his partner Shepherd Chahwanda after whom the stadium is named.

The Chahwanda Stadium is being built on a large piece of land in Kwekwe. Its construction is progressing rapidly. The stadium will have a seating capacity of thousands of spectators and will feature a range of modern amenities, including a B stadium arena, clubhouse, changing rooms, a clinic, and a ZIFA house. The stadium’s design is intended to meet the highest international standards, ensuring that it will be a world-class venue for sports competitions and events.

Prophet Walter Magaya said that the construction of Chahwanda Stadium was progressing steadily, with completion expected by the end of March this year, as revealed during a familiarisation tour of the stadium by officials from Kadoma City Council and Masvingo City Council who came following an invitation by the Prophet for them to see the progress being made at the construction site.

Speaking to journalists, Prophet Magaya said he had set an ambitious target of constructing at least ten state-of-the-art stadiums across Zimbabwe, with Kadoma and Masvingo Cities already earmarked as key locations.

The familiarisation tour was led by Prophet Walter Magaya, who is also the founder of the Prophetic Healing Deliverance (PHD) Ministries. A high-powered delegation from Kadoma City, led by Mayor Nigel Ruzario, Deputy Mayor Michael Mvula, Town Clerk Malvern Madondo, Directors, heads of departments, councillors, and representatives from residents associations and Masvingo City delegation visited the state-of-art Stadium as part of a familiarisation tour.

The visit was aimed at gaining insights and knowledge on stadium construction and operations, as Kadoma City and Masvingo City prepare to construct the same stadia, courtesy of Prophet Walter Magaya.

During the tour, Prophet Walter Magaya said that he was committed to providing world-class sports infrastructure.

The Mayor of Kadoma, His Worship Nigel Ruzario, said they were thrilled to have Prophet Magaya and his team partner with them to have a state-of-the-art sports stadium in Kadoma, meant to change the face of city.

Prophet Magaya’s vision for the Chahwanda Stadium is to create a hub for sports development in Kwekwe, where young people can come to train, compete, and develop their skills.

The stadium will also provide a range of amenities for spectators, including food and beverage outlets, restrooms, and parking facilities. With its completion, the Chahwanda Stadium is set to become a major landmark in Kwekwe, and a source of pride for the city and its residents.
