Rains interrupt Mash East volleyball finals

On Saturday 20 November in Ruwa, a few minutes after kickstarting what looked like the toughest and most competitive of all volleyball matches between Ruwa and Marondera Tigers who were battling for a Mashonaland East volleyball League tournament trophy, a dark cloud covered the sky followed by an outpouring heavy rainfall. The match had to be immediately suspended to a later date which is will be announced in the near future.

As for the ladies’ teams, they managed to play through the finals before the men’s match. Mashonaland East Volleyball Association chairperson, Mr. Thulisani Zarima carried on with the presentation of medals and trophies to the lady champions Ruwa. Vimbayi Munyaradzi from team Ruwa scooped the MVP prize.

The teams that made it to the finals were for men Ruwa, Marondera, Tigers, Vital, and Cheetahs. In the women’s teams were Ruwa and Riverside. Guest of honor Robert Machekanyanga the managing director of MPS company hailed all the teams for their efforts to make it to the finals.

Mr. Zarima said that the date for the men’s finals is still to be announced.
