Redan Coupons donates three world-class ambulances to Government

Vice President and Minister for Health and Child Care Dr. Constatntino Chiwenga has received a donation of three ambulances from Redan Coupons.

The three units will service three provincial hospitals and they come with world-class hospital standard life support medical equipment.

The Ministry of Health and Child Care is currently in the process of setting up an ambulance services department with more than two hundred fully equipped ambulances as part of efforts to improve the country’s health delivery system.

The government is currently on a drive to revamp the country’s health sector. The Ministry of Health and Child Care has received three ambulances and three thousand litres of fuel from Redan Coupon Private Limited.

Speaking at the hand over ceremony Redan Coupons Chief Executive Officer Mr. Tafadzwa Chigumbu said, “Our success as a company and as a nation depends mainly on a good health delivery system and on that, Redan is gratified in knowing that its contribution will result in the Ministry of Health being able to better serve the nation at large.”

In his acceptance speech, Minister of Health and Child Care, Vice President Constantino Chiwenga said the donation speaks to the ministry’s restructuring framework which is currently underway.

“The restructured Ministry of Health and Child Care will be comprised of among other entities a directorate of ambulance services comprising ground and air ambulance department. It will comprise of helicopters. The three ambulances have come at a good time and we highly appreciate it as they will also service the highways when accidents occur. The donation comes at a crucial time when the Ministry is formulating an ambulance service directorate. The department will require 200 fully equipped ambulances.” he said.

The three specialised surface ambulances donated are going to Marondera, Gwanda, and Masvingo provincial hospitals and they will service major highways.
