The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), the FCI+IFG Union and the University of Malta today in Cairo announced the opening of registrations for the 2019 cohort of the Certificate of Finance in International Trade (COFIT).
Stephen Kauma, Afreximbank’s Director and Global Head of the Human Resources Department, said that COFIT 2019, which is open to banking and trade finance professionals from across Africa, will be delivered in four full-time modules of one week each. Two modules will be delivered in Malta and the other two in Cairo, with the first module taking place in Cairo from 08 April 2019. All presentations will be in English.
Mr. Kauma said that COFIT was developed to meet the demands of the commercial world and offered a platform for participants to increase their understanding of all aspects of international trade, import and export business, finance of international trade, supply chain finance and commercial finance, including factoring, invoice discounting and asset-based lending, among other areas.
He encouraged Afreximbank’s partner organisations to enroll their staff members for COFIT 2019 to give them essential insight, awareness and understanding of international trade for their career development and for enhanced skills.
Mr. Kauma said that the full tuition fees for the programme was Euro 6,750 per student but added that Afreximbank would offer a 50 per cent partial tuition scholarship to the first seven applicants who confirm attendance and finalise their registration requirements.
