RIDA committed to rural infrastructure development in Mashonaland West

Chinhoyi – The Rural Development Infrastructure Agency (RIDA) is committed to the transformation of rural development in Mashonaland West Province by ensuring communities have access to good rural roads, as well as safe and clean water.

This was revealed by the Executive Director of the agency, Christopher Shumba when he paid a courtesy call on the newly appointed Mashonaland West Provincial Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution Hon Marian Chombo.

“We are ready to help communities achieve their roles in contributing to the national development agenda which is being spearheaded by our President as we work towards vision 2030 of an upper middle-income economy which we believe can be achieved with the provision of the necessary infrastructure such as good roads, boreholes, dams, and bridges. In Mashonaland West, through the Minister of State’s office, we are going to carry out massive infrastructure development projects in the rural areas,” he said.

The Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Hon Marian Chombo, said she is aware that various rural communities in Mashonaland West Province are in need of various infrastructure development in the areas of water provision, road rehabilitation, and other infrastructure development support programs in pursuit of transforming the province into an economic development hub for the country.

RIDA is on an national ambitious program for infrastructure development through dam construction for irrigation, borehole water provision, and road rehabilitation among others.
